About this free phone number extractor
A phone number extractor scans a block of text and returns only the phone numbers it contains. It saves you from reading through long emails, exports and documents and copying numbers out one at a time.
What kinds of numbers can it find?
The extractor recognises the common ways people write phone numbers:
- International numbers with a plus sign, such as
+44 7911 123456or+92 300 1234567 - Numbers with brackets and dashes, such as
(555) 123-4567or1-800-555-0199 - Numbers separated by dots or spaces, such as
555.987.6543 - Local numbers and free-phone prefixes, such as
0800 123 4567or0300-1234567
To keep the list useful, it ignores things that only look like phone numbers: dates such as 2026-10-25, IP addresses such as 192.168.1.1, and decimals such as 3.14159.
Clean list or original formatting
With the Clean style, every number is reduced to digits and a leading plus sign, which makes the list easy to sort, compare and import into other tools. With As found, each number keeps its original spacing, brackets and dashes, so it reads exactly as it did in your source text.
Tips for the best results
- Set the number length to match your data. Most phone numbers have between 7 and 15 digits.
- Leave Remove duplicates on when the same number appears several times, for example in an email thread.
- If you see wrong results, tighten the minimum and maximum digits. If numbers are missing, loosen them.
- Check the list before you use it. Extraction finds patterns, so a quick look is always worthwhile.
Privacy and responsible use
The extractor works inside your browser, so your text is not uploaded or stored by us. Please only collect and use phone numbers you have a right to use, and follow the privacy and anti-spam laws that apply to you before contacting anyone.
